About

Contemporary Art Stavanger consists of an online art journal as well as a physical residency program for critics, writers and researchers. Through our work, we aim to contribute meaningful conversation relevant to the Stavanger region’s art scene, while at the same time connecting the content to a larger national and international discourse – we therefore publish in both Norwegian and English. In addition to reviews, essays, and interviews, we explore the expansive possibilities of CAS’ online platform and investigate different ways of working with writers, residencies, and the format of art writing and criticism. We at CAS are dedicated to presenting a wide range of perspectives, voices, and subject matter. Read more

7.30 pm Experience Dybwikdans in cooperation with contemporary dancer Hagit Yakira

Take the opportunity to have this new and unique experience of the exhibition Intimate and Monumental through Hagit Yakira’s interpretation.
Dybwikdans was established in 1999 and has since then produced stage art, installations and performances. The company has a strong regional attachment, but also works nationally and internationally with stage art for children and installations. The company has a particular interest for venues where the borders between stage and audience cease, and this is how it will be this evening when the dancers let themselves inspire by the exhibition space and the art works in it. In this performance Dybwikdans cooperates with contemporary dancer Hagit Yakira. Yakira originates from Israel and has her artistic practice in London where she runs her own dance company, Hagit Yakira Company. Yakira is employed as Assistant Professor at the University in Stavanger where she lectures in contemporary dance.
