About

Contemporary Art Stavanger consists of an online art journal as well as a physical residency program for critics, writers and researchers. Through our work, we aim to contribute meaningful conversation relevant to the Stavanger region’s art scene, while at the same time connecting the content to a larger national and international discourse – we therefore publish in both Norwegian and English. In addition to reviews, essays, and interviews, we explore the expansive possibilities of CAS’ online platform and investigate different ways of working with writers, residencies, and the format of art writing and criticism. We at CAS are dedicated to presenting a wide range of perspectives, voices, and subject matter. Read more

Kulturøya // Per Kristian Nygård & Line Anda Dalmar

October 27, 2017 @16:30 - 18:00 CEST Exhibition

About

Oktober 2017, Per Kristian Nygård and Line Anda Dalmar will create site-specific projects at Sølyst.

Find Your Eyes is a long-term placemaking, open air exhibition curated by Monika Wuhrer and Ingeborg Kvame. Sølyst is changing, the mysterious dream landscape behind the extant historical buildings and the projected condominiums of the future. Creating a parallel space to investigate these changes, Line Anda Dalmar and Per Kristian Nygård create work that projects societal issues onto the forest of Sølyst to explore our relationship with our environment and each other.

In Framing, Per Kristian Nygård will play with a familiar framework to explore and collaborate with time in the forest of Sølyst. Over time, the wood of the sculpture will slowly become warped, its structure will become overgrown and animals will take up residence and it will become part of the forest itself.

Line Anda Dalmar turns her focus to the forest itself. Trees are social beings. Dalmar’s project Skogsmonologer (Forest Monologues) aims to enhance and activate the forest by personifying the trees that live there

Join us in the greenhouse, Sølyst, Friday, the 27th of October, to see the work and hear more. The artists themselves will explain and present their work.
