About

Contemporary Art Stavanger consists of an online art journal as well as a physical residency program for critics, writers and researchers. Through our work, we aim to contribute meaningful conversation relevant to the Stavanger region’s art scene, while at the same time connecting the content to a larger national and international discourse – we therefore publish in both Norwegian and English. In addition to reviews, essays, and interviews, we explore the expansive possibilities of CAS’ online platform and investigate different ways of working with writers, residencies, and the format of art writing and criticism. We at CAS are dedicated to presenting a wide range of perspectives, voices, and subject matter. Read more

Find Your Eyes vol 2 – Kulturøya

September 15, 2017 @16:30 - 18:00 CEST Event, Exhibition

About

Find Your Eyes is a year-long project at Sølyst, Kulturøya, curated by Monika Wuhrer. Find Your Eyes will see, over the course of the year, a rotating group of artists who will collaborate on artistic interventions on the island. In September 2017, Ingeborg Kvame and Margrethe Aanestad will create site-specific projects at Sølyst.

The island of Sølyst is inspiring and mysterious. With the arrival of developers on the island, nature has begun to give way to concrete and technology. The landscape and the industrial exist together, with a trajectory that implies industry will overwhelm the forests and fields. Motivated by their fear of losing nature that cannot be recovered, Ingeborg Kvame and Margrethe Aanestad will explore the remaining forests, responding the specific environment of Sølyst and its resistance to humanity.

Come and join us the 15th of September, in the greenhouse at Sølyst, to see the work and hear the artists themselves explain and tell about their work and prosess.
